NIBC is looking for a Senior Risk Manager to strengthen its Market Risk Management team!

Market Risk Management is part of Risk Management and performs a broad range of activities. The team is responsible for amongst others bank-wide Market Risk management and the risk management of our Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, various models as well as a limited number of risk IT applications. What will you do?
As Senior Market Risk Manager you will lead day-to-day Market Risk reporting thereby obtaining exposure to a variety of internal departments (Treasury, Trading desk, Asset & Liability Management, Retail Banking, Finance and other Risk units).
Where necessary, you will lead and initiate ad-hoc analysis resulting from new product approval, limit proposals, new activities and model updates. The market risk elements of our Risk Appetite statements covering Market Risk and Interest Rate Risk Banking Book are part of the scope.
Being the change management lead to address changing regulation (FRTB), update of models (VaR/Savings model) and Market Risk applications are part of the job.
An active contribution is expected to assist in the constant evaluation of what our optimal Market Risk management application, data and model landscape should be.
You will be the go-to person for Market Risk related questions in the organization and keep yourself up to date about best market practices through engagement with other Market Risk professionals, courses and attendance of professional gatherings (Dutch Banking Association covering Market Risk).
You will contribute, review and sign-off on reports for external parties (including the regulators), such as back-testing analysis, market risk solvency reports, stress tests, quantitative impact studies, scenario analysis, market risk reporting in our annual report/Pillar 3 or other external publications.
The job requires a significant level of interaction with other risk departments for activities such as Economic Capital and bank-wide Stress Testing.
Who are we looking for?
- A completed university degree in subjects such as economics, econometrics, mathematics or a similar degree.
- 7 to 10 years of experience with Market Risk Management or Risk Management regarding Asset & Liability Management.
- Good analytical and communication skills (fluent in English (verbal and writing)).
- Knowledge and practical experience with regulatory requirements (CRD).
- Ability to work with a range of data modelling software (Excel, VBA, Matlab) and market data (Bloomberg).
- An eye for detail and a critical approach to both others’ work as well as your own.
- Be self-starting and able to work independently – enjoy to lead change management.
- Interest/knowledge regarding related topics such as IT, Finance and Operational Risk.
- A flexible attitude and ability to work in a dynamic and vibrant environment.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork and creativity.
