Head of Treasury Transformation @ NatWest

We’re hiring a Head of NatWest Markets Treasury Transformation in Amsterdam.
- This role will give you a dual focus of standing up a fit-for-purpose treasury function for a new entity while ensuring treasury activities continue during the transition
- The RBS NV entity is becoming part of the NatWest Markets, and a key part of that transformation will be to understand and plan for the funding and capital implications, both on a standalone basis and as a part of NatWest Markets
- The role is available at director level
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of RBS NV, you will develop, implement and monitor treasury models, policies and procedures across the entity. You’ll make sure the function is compliant with the wider RBS regulatory parameters and reporting requirements, prepare for the new entity’s ILAAP, and make it operationally ready, including by issuing debt. Other key aspects of your role will include:
Contributing planning and managing RBS NV’s capital resources and capital risks, including communicating with rating agencies and coordinating stress tests, ensuring optimal solvency
Managing restructuring projects, meeting overall programme objectives and plans in a disciplined, economic manner
Monitoring both internal and external developments, translating their implications and sharing relevant information so that the knowledge level in the department is appropriate to execute activities in line with local legislation and internal guidelines
Supporting the Chief Financial Officer of RBS NV in delivering the Finance team’s objectives
The Skills You’ll Need
We’re looking for someone who is familiar with the existing NV entity and the specific legacy issues that need to be worked through. You’ll have deep experience of the banking industry, and a high level of overall treasury knowledge, covering capital, liquidity, intragroup limits, FX and interest rate hedging. You should also have a detailed understanding of a range of wholesale funding options available to a bank, including money markets, term funding and secured funding.
Full fluency in both Dutch and English is also essential.
We’ll Also Expect
A deep understanding of the banking regulatory environment and experience in engaging with regulators
Experience of legal entity and business restructuring, including trade novations and transfers via legal schemes
Knowledge of the banking systems used by RBS, particularly with reference to treasury
Knowledge and experience of relevant treasury policies for a bank based in the Netherlands and subject to UK and DNB oversight and regulation
