The Treasury team is responsible for global financing strategies and execution, capital structure management, capital deployment recommendations, foreign currency considerations and risk management, share repurchase strategies and execution, treasury operations, investment programs for the Company’s cash, trust and pension assets, and interest rate risk management. Treasury also considers tax and accounting impact of its strategies and recommendations. Treasury serves as an advocate for the Company to debt and equity investors, commercial and investment banks, and rating agencies.

A Day in the Life

As a Treasury Compliance specialist you are responsible for ensuring that Medtronic efficiently navigates and is compliant with financial industry regulations and controls. You will have knowledge of AML and KYC programs, regulations, standards and compliance requirements. You will analyze and interpret documents based on corporate/legal formation documentation and structure, will consult with finance, legal, compliance and bankers, escalate, address unresolved issues and manage information in the system of record.

Your Daily Activities & Responsibilities Include

  • Follow (recommend changes to & implement) policies and procedures to ensure consistent adherence to AML requirements
  • Maintain bank account management and contingent liabilities records in Exigis. Explore, recommend and implement alternative state of the art technologies
  • Manage the entire bank account opening, closing and modification process with main banking partners
  • Ongoing support, administration and implementation of (new) e-banking tools with main banking partners
  • Ongoing support of AML, KYC and W8BEN requirements with main banking partners. Engage bankers to manage compliance updates while controlling sensitive information. Duties will require coordinated efforts within tax and legal departments to obtain & complete missing information
  • Partner with compliance on sanctioned country and OFAC related enquiries and activities
  • In- and external audit support; SOX testing and internal controls testing, auditor enquiries, bank confirmations
  • Identify & implement process improvements. Opportunities to developing:
    • a KYC framework -in close collaboration with legal- for (capital) account opening process and ongoing KYC support with main banking partners
    • an overarching Risk Control framework for AML, KYC, compliance, bank account management
  • Share best practices with team members across locations

Must Haves 

  • 0 – 3 years experience in a similar field or in similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Accuracy and ability to work to tight schedules and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
